Building Permits in Concord
Concord's Building Division provides plan checking, permit administration and inspection services for residential and non-residential construction within the City.
Current codes
California's 2025 Building Standards Code (Title 24) is effective statewide for applications on or after January 1, 2026. Concord reviews permit applications for applicable building, accessibility, CALGreen, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and energy requirements, including local provisions.

The City's Permit Portal can be used to apply, check application and inspection status, and search permit history. Concord states that inspection requests are scheduled for the next business day; preferred AM/PM windows are not guaranteed.
