Building Permits in Lewisville
Lewisville's Building Services manages plan review, permitting and inspections for private construction projects. Permit and inspection services are available through the City's MyGovernmentOnline system.
Current adopted codes
Lewisville currently lists the 2021 International Building, Residential, Fire, Plumbing, Energy Conservation and Mechanical Codes among its standardized adopted codes. When a permit is required

Review timing
Lewisville expressly states that building-permit timing depends on project type. Some miscellaneous permits can be reviewed and issued by a Permit Technician in 1–2 business days, while permits such as fence and window work require plan review and the review duration varies with workload and revisions. Inspections
Permit inspections are scheduled through MyGovernmentOnline. The City states that next-day inspections must be requested before 3 p.m., with a separate Friday cutoff for Monday inspections. Required inspection types depend on the project.
